LAS VEGAS—Central Recovery is excited to announce that one of its companies, Central Recovery Press (CRP), has acquired the assets of of Mac Publishing, an independent book, audio, and video publishing company founded by the award-winning author Claudia Black, PhD.
Under Dr. Black and Jack Fahey’s leadership, the Washington-based Mac Publishing has been at the forefront of addiction and mental health literature for more than 30 years and has produced numerous bestsellers, including Dr. Black’s million-copy bestseller It Will Never Happen to Me and her popular children’s book My Dad Loves Me.
“We’re honored to be bringing Mac Publishing to CRP,” stated Central Recovery’s CEO, Stuart Smith. “Many of Mac Publishing’s titles have become standards in the field of addiction. Our experienced sales and marketing team is looking forward to becoming champions of so many beloved and widely-read titles.”
Mac Publishing is also delighted about the acquisition. In a joint statement, owners Jack Fahey and Claudia Black commented: “CRP and Mac Publishing share a similar vision, and we believe CRP and their forward-thinking editorial and production skills will maintain the clinical relevancy you have come to expect with our company.”
Dr. Black’s work, teachings, and trainings have earned her a reputation as an esteemed and valued voice in the field of addiction recovery. Dr. Black was named “Educator of the Year” by the National Council on Alcohol and Drug Addiction and has been the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Marty Mann Award.
In taking the helm of Mac Publishing, CRP aims to deliver Dr. Black’s current and future work to a new and even wider audience. Beginning March of 2017, CRP will release a new edition of Dr. Black’s relapse prevention workbook A Hole in the Sidewalk.
